Poldark fans in mourning at shock death
Poldark viewers were left in mourning last night after the show’s latest episode saw the shock departure of Francis.
Going down into the copper mine alone, Francis (Kyle Soller) fell into the water below and drowned before Ross (Aiden Turner) could arrive to save him. Flashbacks of the pair when they were younger played over the scene to add just a little more heartbreak.
Twitter users expressed their dismay at the death of one of the show’s most popular characters.
Twitter:
Nooooo #Poldark
HOW CAN YOU END IT LIKE THIS?!? https://t.co/dSzszLEMEe (@oakenlock)
Twitter: Poldark…. Not even shirtlessness will cure me of this sadness.#Poldark https://t.co/nmNjuurOQd (@NiceQueenCersei)
Twitter: .@BBCOne Someone call the Doctor quick. I can’t handle this level of pain. We must fix this! #Poldark https://t.co/qorqCU2dBf (@TheAltSource)
It wasn’t all doom and gloom for fans of the show, though, as last night’s episode also saw an eagerly anticipated bath scene. Once again, Twitter went into meltdown with some users gleefully welcoming the scene and others complaining that there wasn’t more of it.
Twitter: Thank you @BBCOne for that wonderful moment of seeing Aidan Turner in a tin bath #Poldark (@LailaK76)
Twitter: If you have been affected by Ross in a tin bath, please call the BBC helpline. Details follow at the end of the programme. #Poldark (@SharonEckman)
Twitter: Hang on!! As a TV Licence payer I demand at least three more camera angles on that bath scene!! #Poldark (@50ShadesPoldark)
Poldark returns next Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
