Last week was the last we would see of Rebecca, a nice woman but maybe a bit too nice for the business world.
Those left were faced with the task of shifting watercraft, life jackets, lobster cages and all manner of wares that can be found at a harbour.
The contestants were thrown in the deep end this week, being sent to Poole to sell things that they knew nothing about.
It’s brilliant by Sir Sugar, really. If this lot can sell nautical gear to people who actually know what they’re talking about, then they should be able to sell anything to anybody.
Here are five of the stand-out moments from yesterday’s episode of The Apprentice…
Karthik's pep talk
It was all over the place, like it was the first time he’d ever been asked to speak to a group of people. Samuel later criticised him, saying he got the job description wrong. Uninspiring – to say the least.
Courtney's confident quizzing
Did someone tell him that this task was meant to be a way to throw the contestants into the unknown? The way he tackled the situation, by asking questions as if he knew what he was talking about was, well, inspiring – to say the least.
Frances' big sale
Ok, this was truly unexpected. Who buys a boat from an Apprentice contestant, surrounded by people who know what they’re talking about? Well, this one guy did and he paid almost £20,000 for the watercraft.
"I managed to sell some of the fish pillows."
Now it’s not Samuel’s fault (it’s Karthik’s) but that sentence simply symbolised the short-comings of Titans, especially after Nebula had just shifted a boat for a five-figure some.
Karthik and Samuel depart
What?! Karthik was fired early on. Sir Alan didn’t even trust him to select two people to come back into the boardroom with him, such was the severity of his lost. Samuel didn’t do too much wrong – yeah, he knocked a few quid off some sales but he actually made a decent contribution (relatively).
