Yes, they’re back again with another season! This is going to be Supernatural’s thirteenth season and we’re still as excited as ever! After the finale of Season 12, the birth of Lucifer’s son, we need more.
Here’s your first spoiler: Cass is back! Jared Padalecki accidently spoiled the return of Castiel and of course, Misha had to confirm it. Come on, it’s Supernatural. Coming back from the dead, hell or anywhere is no big deal here! But still to our despair, Crowley’s gone.
After SpoilerTV revealed the Season 13 episode titles, there’s a lot being anticipated.
This season’s titles are:
Episode 1: “Lost and Found”
Episode 2: “The Rising Sun”
Episode 3: “Patience”
Episode 4: “The Big Empty”
Episode 5: “Advanced Thanatology”
Episode 6: “Tombstone”
Episode 7: “War of the Worlds”
Episode 8: “The Scorpion and the Frog”
Episode 9: “The Bad Place”
In episode 3, “Patience”, we’re going to see Sam and Dean’s granddaughter, which apparently will help set up the Wayward Sisters spinoff series.
The episode is set to act as a backdoor pilot for the Wayward Sisters series, the long running CV’s series confirmed. And it’s all happening during season thirteen.
“Centered on the character of Sheriff Jody Mills and a group of troubled young women — all orphaned by supernatural tragedy — these “wayward sisters” emerge as a formidable force against the supernatural, under Mills’s training and protection.”
Episode 4, “The Big Empty” will be exactly what we think it is. Based on the idea of Season 11, that there is a place where death is permanent. Somewhere between heaven, hell and purgatory, it may exist.
“The next time you or your brother bite it, well, you’re not going to Heaven or Hell. One of us, and lord I hope it’s me, we’re gonna make a mistake and toss you out into the Empty. And nothing comes back from that.” -Billie
Episode 7 though, “War of the Worlds”, is the one we’re most waiting for. It’s a huge possibility that there may be some sort of a parallel world episode or like most of us want it, the Scooby Doo crossover. But sadly, that’s not very likely, as the animations won’t be finished until 2018. And it’s pretty safe to say that there will be no aliens since the show doesn’t support that sort of mythology. What’s it going to be? Watch it to find out!
“Andrew [Dabb] knew some guys over at Warner Bros. Animation and they floated this idea. We took it to Warner Bros. and asked, ‘What do you think?’ and everybody got really excited about it,” Supernatural executive producer Robert Singer told Hidden Remote. “The guys have already recorded their parts and, I think, the Scooby Doo people have already recorded their parts. It’s one of our bigger swings. I would say three-quarters of that episode is animation. I’ve seen the tests of Sam and Dean working with Scooby, it’s pretty fantastic. We’re really excited about it. I’m pretty confident people are going to like it. It’s a long process. We started working on this last January and we won’t get the final animation until this coming January. We’ve been talking it for years and we’ve finally able to pull it off.”
“You get a little live-action in the beginning and then that gets us into Scooby Land and it’s pretty cool. I’m pretty stoked about it,” – Dean at the San Diego Comic-Con 2017.
The trailer for Season 13, gives us a few more surprises. “God, we need your help.” Sounds like Sam Winchester, but well, it’s Dean. The trailer also lets us a peak into seeing Lucifer’s grown up son, Jack, who may be the new King of Hell. Alexander Calvert is going to be a new series regular.
One thing you may be worried about is the fact that the series is soon approaching 300 episodes, and if you remember, Jensen Ackles might need a change. But that’s something to worry about when Season 14 gets closer. We’re only at 264 so far.
Till then, stay inside the salt ring and please accept this sandwich as a gesture of solidarity.
